Organic in Action: TOPP Field Day - Held June 19, 2025
Mad Agriculture, Prairie Grass Ranch, Timeless Seeds, and the Montana Organic Association (MOA) invite you to a day of grounded connection at Organic in Action: TOPP Field Day. Set on the vast plains of Havre, Montana, this gathering celebrates the living relationship between soil, seed, and stewardship. Through field walks, demonstrations, and a shared meal, we’ll explore the practices and stories shaping the future of organic agriculture in the Northern Plains.
This immersive experience features hands-on agronomy sessions, a soil pit demonstration, and a guided tour of integrated grazing systems. A storytelling lunch will honor the Manuel family’s multigenerational farming journey, followed by an afternoon of programming and panel discussions led by MOA and Mad Agriculture.

Quinn Institute Field Day: Healing the earth by growing food as medicine

Join us for our 2nd annual on-farm field day on July 9th from 10am to 3pm! We will tour our fields, have a few special guests, and eat a delicious locally-inspired lunch together. Our field day is designed to keep you up-to-date on our research and outreach, answer your questions, hear your suggestions and ideas, and strengthen relationships with our friends working to heal the earth by growing food as medicine.
General Mills & MOA: Listening Tour - Held June 4-5, 2025
General Mills, in collaboration with the Montana Organic Association, is hosting a two-day listening tour focused on dryland organic farming practices in Montana.
Listening Tour Goals:
Agronomy & Rotations – Discuss the techniques and rotations that enable Montana’s dryland organic growers to produce high-quality wheat without synthetic fertilizer.
Barriers to Legumes & Alfalfa – Identify obstacles producers face when incorporating legumes, especially alfalfa, into their rotations.
Organic System Plan as a Tool – Explore how the Organic System Plan can help verify soil health practices and return value to organic farmers.
