CFAP 2 – It’s Better!!
September 29 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
USDA has a new version of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP-2) that makes $13.21 billion in aid available to farmers over the next few months. USDA plans to distribute CFAP-2 payments to farmers to partially compensate for losses incurred between April 1, 2020 – August 31, 2020 (or from April 16th for livestock) where prices, markets, and supply chains have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
CFAP – 2 is more flexible and workable than its predecessor. There are new payment options that will allow CFAP to be more accessible to different growers. The new revenue option for example is based on a farm’s 2019 revenue. This is likely to be a better fit for smaller growers and diversified growers whose crops may have been left out in the first round of funding.
