18th Annual MOA Conference and Business Meeting

December 3 - December 5

Every year, the Montana Organic Association (MOA) gathers its members and invites the public to join them in celebrating the organic movement that came about thirty years ago. Montana now ranks among the top states in the production of certified organic wheat and other grains along with peas, lentils, and flax.

The 18th Annual MOA Conference may be different due to COVID – 19. It is scheduled for December 3 – 5, 2020. We hope to gather like-minded people who have dedicated themselves to living by organic standards that convey trust and transparency to the consumer in a face-to-face setting in Great Falls at the University of Providence. We hope to come together to share their stories, learn from each other,  and to confront the many challenges that face us at this time in history.

The conference keynote address is still being planned. Check back here for updates.

Typically, the conference features more than forty speakers over the three-day conference that features farm tours, research updates, workshops, panel discussions, a trade show, organic food, Organic U (MOA’s organic certification workshop), and Kid’s U (introduces the kiddos to organic agriculture). We have reserved the Meadow Lark Country Club for our Awards Banquet and Fundraising Auction. Given the reality of COVID -19, our conference may look very different either with online presentations, a hard-copy collection of research updates, opinions, and technical learning documents, or something we haven’t thought up yet!

This annual event includes the MOA business meeting with board elections. Regardless of the means, whether in person or online, the Business Meeting will take place as required by MOA by-laws.

There are many ways to be involved with the MOA conference, we’re just not sure to date (April 27, 2020) what that will look like. Please consider supporting the conference by renewing your membership, becoming a sponsor, purchasing an advertisement in the conference program, donating an item or service for our fundraising auction, or even volunteering.

MOA is strong because of the participation and support of its many outstanding members, sponsors, advertisers, and friends. Get involved today!
